Canon Details Yfandes is being taken from the same canon point as Vanyel, who's at "the period of time between two books where he's just become a Herald but before he's become a long-suffering war hero." She and Van are established and past the first problems they ran into in their partnership, but they're still settling into their routine and haven't been married for 500 years yet.
Character Details
Age An adult horse and all-around mature individual. Hair/Eyes Pure white, with silver hooves that RING LIKE BELLS and blue eyes.
Height/Weight 5'3" (15.3hh) at the shoulders, athletic but not overmuscled. Notable Traits Unquestionably a 13 year old's fantasy of a magical sparklepony.
15 Second Summary Yfandes is an agent of the well-intentioned Powers guarding the Kingdom of Valdemar. For some reason, everyone decided that the best way to keep the kingdom on the straight and narrow was to reincarnate Good People into magical psychic horses, then send them into the world to Choose other Good People (aka Heralds) and help them out. In the process, Companions amplify their Heralds' mental and magical gifts, provide them with emotional support and physical protection, and (when warranted) gently manipulate their lives to fit whatever vague divine plans have been made. It's OK, kids, free will is still important.

Yfandes has the important job of looking after the aforementioned Vanyel Ashkevron, Extra Super Special Magical Sparkly Herald-Mage. She's personally no-nonsense, sympathetic, and motherly, with a desert-dry sense of humor.

Clothing She has some fancy blue and silver tack but doesn't actually have that on unless it's noted. She might switch to a casual saddle for QM.
Abilities & Permissions
Abilities 'Fandes is a super formidable Fantasy Protagonist(tm) horse to go with her Fantasy Protagonist(tm) Herald, though more of her abilities are geared towards passive support. She has powerful Thought-sensing (what it sounds like, though she won't do this without permission) Mindspeech (talking or riding along as a commentator in your head) and Empathy (sensing others’ feelings and projecting them at will). She's strongly bonded to Vanyel along these lines and might or might not be listening in on his headspace at any given time. She can also draw power from her surroundings to augment her speed and stamina, as well as act as a channel to feed magic to others. Mental gifts like Fetching (telekinesis) further enhance her long distance endurance, and her senses are much more acute than a normal horse’s.

Though she’ll avoid active magic use when possible, she can definitely alter memories, help cast illusions to disguise her appearance, or (to pick a random example!) help you bring down an ultra-strong wizard in a final dramatic murder-suicide strike. As a divine agent on the ground she’s sensitive to souls and has something of a picture of how things "should" be going, according to the guys upstairs; more or less a sense of the correct narrative flow according to holy powers. Sometimes she ignores that.
Permissions I'm pretty flexible, but please contact me if there's going to be violence or coercion; not only is Yfandes inclined to view these pretty dimly, so will her husband the walking nuke.
Sensing I'm going to copy Vanyel's for this: Although Yfandes doesn't read minds without permission, she doesn't really have an easy "off" switch for sensing magic (or power) in other people, or sensing their emotions. Please let me know (either OOCly or just in action tags) if there's anything magical or special she should be sensing. Including some details about emotions now and then would be great as well, especially if a character is particularly upset or hiding something.

Though she keeps a low profile, characters with magic sensing abilities may catch a whiff of Holy off of Yfandes, or be able to tell that she's bonded to Vanyel. Additional notes on whether your character has a divine affiliation would help me out!

AATHER STATS

Name Angel // Yfandes
Age Looks like an adult horse, which she also is. (Reincarnation is tricky.)
Team Kunzite

Height/Build 15.3hh, athletic but not overmuscled - a human equivalent would be a runner who doesn't neglect OR overdo their weightlifting.
Hair Color/Eye Color Pure white, with silver hooves and blue eyes! The pastels in her icons are a slight exaggeration for effect.
Notable Traits Has a Kunzite key braided into her mane. She communicates solely in horse charades OR in Mindspeech, which is an emotionally shaded form of telepathy. I'll note major emotional overtones, but you should be able to get an idea in general from her icons when she's Mindspeaking.

Other For anyone who can see auras, Yfandes's is a pure, gently glowing blue-white. Unless she's deliberately Mindspeaking you she's a bit of a null in terms of being able to 'hear' her mind or use special abilities on her - there's a touch of Holy there.
